The Return Of The King

Just over a year has passed since the return of King Kenny. It has been a roller coaster of a year that has seen some ecstatic highs, who would have thought when entering the busy Xmas period of 2010 that Liverpool FC would have been in contention for a coveted Champions League place come the end of the season. Fair enough we didn't quite make it but it was a hell of a ride. With new owners and a new managerial setup the sky seemed the limit.

It came as a surprise to me that many pundits and football enthusiasts questioned the appointment of Kenny citing 'he's been away from the game for too long' as the reason for their doubts. A year on and we are attending our first cup final since 2006 (a trophy is well overdue!) Not only are we going to Wembley but we have taken huge steps towards getting us back into the top four. This season our aim has to be getting back into the Champions League without question but with the emergence of City and Spurs this task is no easy feat. Mondays game (LFC v Spurs) is of the up most importance, especially after Chelsea dropping point to the Scum (3-3.) I believe Kenny is the man to lead us back to the glory days.

To challenge for the title you need to take points for the teams around you and be claiming all 3 points from the so called 'lesser team.' When it comes to big games we don't have a problem, I am more confident playing the likes of Chelsea than I am playing Stoke. Its a decade old problem that the King needs to solve, his biggest test in my opinion. We have dropped so many silly points at home this season but with full squad (minus Sir Lucas) I think we will be far more clinical in front of goal and I fully expect us to reach the 4th spot come the end of the season.

One thing I hate is SuperFans. Supporters who are blind to our shortcomings and call other supporters 'plastic fans' for sharing an opinion that is negative towards our great club. Every Liverpool Fan is entitled to an opinion regardless if its a criticism of a player or if they hold a season ticket or not. What I will say however is to the LFC fans that have been calling for the Kings head... You should be ashamed of yourselves! Get behind LFC and the players, we are not Chelsea!! Look at what has been achieved in a year - what will the next 12 months bring?
